Starting My Newsletter
I'm starting my very first newsletter to share different ways that I try to spend more time outdoors each day, in the hope that it might inspire you to do the same.
I first started my Get Up Go Outside blog 2 years ago now. Keen to one day write a book about something, I thought writing a blog about something I enjoy would give me some practice first and, hopefully, a little bit of a following so people might actually want to read that book.
The blog so far has been a bit hit-and-miss. I certainly overthink the content I write, and feel like every post I put out should be interesting to everybody, every time. The reality is, is that most weeks I'm really busy with work and life, and although I will spend time outdoors, I usually forget to write about it or think it’s not interesting enough to post about.
I’m starting this newsletter to keep encouraging me to write even when I don’t think there is a story. Mainly because I think the story is about making time for adventure and spending more time in the great outdoors even when life is getting in the way.
Every couple of weeks I will try to round up what I’ve been up to, how I’ve had small adventures (or Microadventures as Alastair Humphreys calls them) around my day-to-day life.
I’ll also be using the newsletter to share my main blog posts, share some book reviews for any new book I’ve been reading, and also share some of the interesting work of other adventurers.
If you are interested in keeping up to date with my small adventures and hopefully inspiring yourself to do some of your own, then why not subscribe to this newsletter and never miss an update!
